Genesis 24:1-4
1 Abraham was now old and well advanced in years, and the LORD had blessed him in every way. 2 He said to the chief [a] servant in his household, the one in charge of all that he had, "Put your hand under my thigh. 3 I want you to swear by the LORD, the God of heaven and the God of earth, that you will not get a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I am living, 4 but will go to my country and my own relatives and get a wife for my son Isaac."

  • Abraham told his servant to go back to his homeland and find a wife for his son Isaac.
  • Abraham does not want Isaac's marriage to draw him away from the God that he loves, he does not want any woman to cause Isaac to love God any less.
  • If you love someone, you may end up loving the things that this person loves even though they may not be lovable.
  • Find a wife or a husband from your 'homeland' - to the group of people who has genuine relationship with God.

Smiling on 30

I wanna be happy about being 30, be expectant of what it will bring. I wanna be proud and say,
"I am 30, single, happy and fabulous!"

The kind of happiness without any bitterness (or else it isn't happiness at all) , that you are not out there to prove something to someone, to the world, but just be happy and content yet being hopeful.

I wanna be free from expectations, of this world, of my peers and myself.

I definitely missed that time of my life, it's not that I feel that I don't need someone, it was when I feel that I have lots to discover and that I have all the time in my life.

And I wanna be able to walk, to stride freely in this life. And I know, still in my heart, all of my hopes will soon become reality. :)
